What happens when the wonder of the universe meets the wonder of Christmas?
For M31, music has always been a way of exploring the mysteries of the cosmos. Distant stars, vast galaxies, and the questions that arise when we look into the night sky.
Star of Wonder: Christmas from M31 continues that exploration, turning our gaze from the wonders of the universe toward a remarkable event beneath the night sky more than two thousand years ago.
The Christmas story itself begins with wonder. A star in the heavens. Travelers searching for its meaning. An extraordinary announcement. And a child whose birth would change the world.
Through twelve reimagined traditional Christmas carols, Star of Wonder traces that journey — from questioning and searching to discovery, celebration, reflection, and ultimately, peace.
Blending the atmospheric soundscapes, ambient textures, downtempo rhythms, and deep house influences familiar to M31 listeners, the album gives these timeless melodies a new perspective while preserving the beauty and meaning at their heart.
It's a journey from the infinite to the intimate. From the vastness of the heavens to the quiet stillness of a manger, and finally to the question of what Christmas means to each of us.
